Roadrunner Quantum Lab

A Launch Site for New Mexico's Quantum Innovation Hub

Background

Roadrunner Quantum Lab is part of Roadrunner Venture Studios, a studio that builds and launches startups. The lab, in Albuquerque, gives quantum companies purpose-built facilities, collaboration with Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories and the University of New Mexico, and incentives to build in the state.

It needed a site that could speak to three audiences at once: founders deciding where to build, institutions and industry partners, and the people of New Mexico who are investing in the effort.

Approach

We designed a custom site that makes a complex subject feel concrete. The pages follow the decisions a founder makes: why New Mexico, what the facilities offer, and how to join.

A CMS-driven news section and partner list let the lab's team publish announcements and add partners without touching the design.

Execution

Project highlights include:

  • Custom design and development, responsive at every screen size
  • Pages for the mission, residencies, news and contact
  • CMS-driven news articles and partner logos
  • Accessibility built in: page landmarks, heading structure, and image descriptions tied to the CMS
  • Analytics through Google Tag Manager and GA4, with Search Console set up from launch

Outcome

The lab launched with a site that matches the ambition of the project, and a team that publishes its own news, including the announcement that Roadrunner will lead a $25 million quantum initiative.
